Start something big –be a Matchmaker times two!
Mentoring takes time. Success doesn’t happen overnight. But your donation can help ensure that Bigs and Littles stick together and make an impact together.
A donation of $1000 will match a child with a caring adult mentor and provide professional support for a full year. This includes volunteer screening, background checks, interviewing and training, as well as all-agency activities.

Mark Ellis, Rapid City native and 2nd baseman for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and his wife, Sarah, have teamed with Rob and Deborah Mudge and Tom and Sharon Warner to establish a matching fund for the Start Something Big Campaign to help Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Black Hills celebrate our 50th anniversary.
You do not have to be a pro athlete to make this double play! All you need to do is sponsor one Big/Little match for two years, $1,000.00 each year per match. Mark and his team will then match your donation; thus the double play where your match now becomes two.
Our goal is to fund 50 new matches each year in 2011 and 2012. Join our Start Something Big Team by supporting a match and helping a Little to meet his or her special Big. To donate, contact ngunter@bigmentors.com, 605.343.1488, or send your donation to BBBS, 425 Kansas City Street, Rapid City, SD 57701.
